Scope

The Health, Safety and Risk Management sub-committee is responsible for the formulation and implementation of health and safety guidelines for both riders and ponies as well as ensuring that IMGA sanctioned competitions are properly risk assessed and that those risks are sufficiently mitigated.

Responsibilities

  • Establish and maintain guidelines covering the provision of both medical and veterinary coverage at IMGA sanctioned competitions.

  • In cooperation with the Compliance sub-committee ensure that such guidelines are satisfactorily implemented at IMGA sanctioned competitions.

  • Establish, implement and carry out a risk management framework both for IMGA as a whole and for IMGA sanctioned competitions in particular.

Requirements

  • The chairperson to prepare a written update statement on the activities of the sub-committee on or before the 15th February, 15th May and 15th August of each year and to relay this to the IMGA chairman.

  • The chairperson (or in their absence, their appointed deputy) to present a full update of the sub-committees annual activities at the AGM.
