IMGA SUB-COMMITTEES

 

 

IMGA Sub-Committees

Sub-Committees prepare recommendations in their areas of special interest for improvements to the management of IMGA, but they have to be approved by the member organisations either at the AGM or through e-mail voting before they can be implemented.

Sub-Committees are kept small (ideally five or six people). Members of the sub-committees are selected on the basis of the skills they can bring to the group and on their geographic location, aiming to get a range of ideas and opinions from around the world.

A group member :

  • must have practical knowledge that will be of assistance to the working of the group
  • be prepared to be active in the group, answering e-mails promptly. Groups can also communicate in face-to-face meetings or video conferences
  • be a member of an IMGA member organisation

Purpose:

  • Maintenance of the “How to Organise an IMGA Sanctioned Competition” (HOST) document
  • Membership compliance checking
  • Dealing with complaints about members
  • Organisation of pre-competition inspections
  • Collation of post competition reports

Current Responsibilities:

  • Continue to monitor use of the breathalyser
  • Creation of a policy document covering drug use in ponies and riders
  • Creation of a guidance document regarding insurance
  • Maintain a central accident record for all IMGA-sanctioned events, so that in the event of a later claim, records of the accident and advice/treatment are available
  • Review and update of the IMGA Health, Safety and Welfare policy document
  • Produce Guidance for members on how to undertake a pre-competition risk assessment
